Dave served as a B-1 bomber navigator and Weapons System Officer in the United States Air Force, including multiple combat deployments.

She brings organizational discipline and a detail orientation that keeps governance documentation, communication standards, and partner-facing materials aligned with the firm's institutional positioning.

Melissa co-manages Afterburner Equity alongside Dave, and her fingerprints are on the operational systems that make the firm's governance commitments more than a positioning statement — standardized reporting, documented underwriting assumptions, defined communication cadence, and the operational layer that makes the firm's governance commitments auditable rather than aspirational.
